Apple Picking: Our season starts at the end of August and normally lasts until the middle of October. There is no admission charge to pick at our orchard except for a smile and a promise to be caring with our trees and our environment. Our schedule of varieties for picking depends on Mother Nature each year but normally begins with sweet Redfree and Nova MacIntosh and ends with the very popular delicious Red Nova Spy in October. Each week during harvest season we record the varieties we are picking, so please give us a call Wagon Rides: Weekends and holidays between 12 and 4pm, take a relaxing wagon ride through our fields with beautiful views of the orchard and surrounding woodlands. With the orchard situated high on a hilly plateau, you can see the rolling farmlands for several miles. Store: During Harvest season we put up a great big red striped tent and sell our organic apples and cider, honey made by the busy bees of Avalon, and other fresh organically grown produce. as well as homemade jams, local maple syrup. We also carry organic fertilizers, and related products for the home organic grower. Upcoming Events: Apple blossom time will be around the second to third week in May. People are welcome to just drop by and see the blossoms. |
